Finally we received a response from our Minto MasterCare representative. He had moved to another building site. Well that's fantastic. We were also informed that the issue is a homeowner maintenance problem; Minto fully expects a home owner to ascend the roofs of their homes to clear snowfall accumulation, particularly during Eastern Ontario winter storms.
Don't worry, the MasterCare site supervisor will obtain a quote for a new roof vent, as Minto believes a MaxiVent style roof vent will resolve the issue. We wait for the quote... and in the meantime we carried out an informal survey of other homes on our street... guess what ? No roof leaks. We checked out other models similar to our own, with a low-pitch roof over the "family room" and similar construction... guess what ? No roof leaks.
We never received information about the MaxiVent. Minto insists it is a homeowner maintenance problem... fantastic, we'll schedule a TARION conciliation inspection. I mean, TARION exists to protect the homeowner, right ? Right ? *cue crickets*
